On(R) Building Safe & Respectful Schools
Teens learn that giving and getting respect are the best ways to prevent violence in their school. Through a series of surveys, problem-solving exercises, and checklists, kids find out how to spot -- and take action against -- racism and ethnic hatred, homophobia, classism, religious intolerance, sexism and sexual violence, and discrimination against people with disabilities. They'll discover how to appreciate differences, how to handle conflict, and where to get help when they need it. Interactive features help teens realize that everyone deserves to be safe at school, that respect can help break the cycle of violence, and that fighting stereotypes and standing up for the right thing are not always easy. 24 pages, 8 1/2" x 11".
